Signs of a bookplate removed from front pastedown. ****** Provides valuable biographical information on Diego del Corro, 15th archbishop of Lima. Corro was educated at Rome and a doctor of the University of Sigüenza. In 1752 he became bishop of Papayán and later, in 1758, was made archbishop of Lima. He died at Jauja in 1761 whilst on a pastoral visit to his diocese. This oration was delivered on the occasion of the transfer of his remains from Jauja to the Cathedral at Lima. Medina, Lima, 1309.
